It seems that in the past few years Advent Calendars have become less of a tradition and more of a trend. With department stores, cosmetic companies and even distilleries all bringing out their own fancy pants countdowns there is more than ever to pick from.
But forget spending £60 for a load of travel sized goodies you probably wont use or £100+ to have the most on trend, Instagrammable pick, sometimes you just can’t beat chocolate! Here are my top choc choices for this year.
Hotel Chocolat Caramel Advent £12.50 – When it comes to Advent Calendars, there are two kinds of people. One counts down to Christmas by opening a door a day, guessing what will be hiding behind it first. The other slides the tray right out of the box, eats the chocolates in one go. With this calendar I just can’t wait, the malty, not-too-sweet caramel chocolate has been a favourite of mine for years, so yes, I’m the second type of person but could you make this last?
Cadburys Advent Calendar £ 1.50 – Sometimes you can’t beat a classic, and it doesn’t get much more classic than Cadburys chocolate. And at just £1.50 you could even have a calendar a day if you really wanted to!
Godiva Christmas Advent £24 – A selection of 25 of Godiva’s exquisitely flavoured chocolates have been presented in this classically inspired Advent Calendar. Celebrate the lead up to Christmas with these mouth-watering seasonal delights. Along with my other picks this one didn’t last long in the taste testing process… dark chocolate and passion fruit? Yes please!
Montezuma’s Milk and White chocolate Advent £9.99 from Riverford Organic Farmers – If you haven’t already you should go check out the Riverford Organic Farmers website. It’s full of yummy organic goodies for you to fill your boots with all year round. This year they have a selection of Christmas treats to pick from, including this milk and white calendar from Montezuma’s. What do I love most? Each chocolate piece is seriously chunky, not to mention all of Montezuma’s products are ethically made.
And if you really are after fancy…
Sendagift wine advent calendar £69.99 – For just £70 this mammoth sized booze box (sorry Mr. Postman!) has 24 slots which each houses a 200ml bottle of wine. The perfect way to try out red and whites you may not otherwise pick and a very joyful countdown to say the least!
Ginvent calendar from Gin Kiosk £124.95 – All right, so that’s a lot of money for an Advent Calendar but let’s face in, gin is in! And for a true gin lover this would make not only a great countdown but the perfect early gift too! (I hope my parents are reading this…)
